Commonwealth Cultural Consulting
Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 29, 2026
This policy explains what information we collect when you use commonwealth.la, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have — including your rights under California law.
The short version. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't run advertising or tracking cookies. We collect information only when you choose to give it to us — by booking a consultation or subscribing to our field notes — plus basic, privacy-friendly analytics that don't identify you. You can ask us to access or delete your information at any time at hello@commonwealth.la.
01Who we are
Commonwealth Cultural Consulting ("Commonwealth," "we," "us") is a creative consulting studio based in Studio City, Los Angeles, California. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@commonwealth.la.
02Information we collect
We collect personal information in only two situations — when you submit one of our forms — plus limited technical data that every website receives.
| Where | What we collect | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Booking a consultation | Your name, email address, time zone, and any notes you choose to write about your project. | To schedule the meeting, send you a calendar invite, and prepare for our conversation. |
| Field-notes subscription | Your email address. | To send our occasional email dispatches (about four a year). |
| Automatically | Standard server and analytics data: pages viewed, approximate region, browser type, and referring page. Our analytics are aggregated and cookieless. | To keep the site secure and understand, in aggregate, which pages are useful. |
We do not ask for sensitive information, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
03Cookies & similar technologies
We keep this deliberately minimal:
- No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We don't use them.
- Analytics are cookieless. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which measures traffic in aggregate without setting cookies or building a profile of you.
- Local storage for your preference. We store your chosen language (English or 中文) in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it. This stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can clear it any time through your browser settings.
Because we set no tracking cookies, there is nothing to "accept" or "reject" — the small notice you may have seen is informational only.
04Service providers we share with
We use a few trusted third parties to operate the site. They process information only on our instructions, for the purposes below — never to sell it.
- Vercel — website hosting and cookieless analytics.
- Cal.com — scheduling the consultation you book (receives your name, email, time zone, and notes).
- Resend — delivering our field-notes emails (receives your email address).
- Google Fonts — the Manrope typeface is served by Google, which receives your IP address as part of loading the font.
05How we use your information
- To respond to you, schedule consultations, and follow up on your project.
- To send the field-notes emails you subscribed to (you can unsubscribe from any email).
- To keep the site secure and to understand aggregate usage.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
06How long we keep it
We keep consultation details for as long as needed to work together and for a reasonable period afterward for our records. We keep your newsletter email until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. Aggregate analytics are retained in a non-identifying form.
07Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how we use it.
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — though we do neither.
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any right, email hello@commonwealth.la with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes the law requires. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
08Security
We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, but we work to keep what you share with us protected.
09Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, note it on the site. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
